"The Original of Laura" is a novel in which the great American writer of Russian origin Vladimir Nabokov wrote until his passing in 1977, and whose manuscript was not seen, until recently, by his wife and son. Nabokov strongly called for the document to be destroyed, but the family, for 30 years, hesitated between publishing and burning it.

The volume was published on November 17, 2009, at Knopf-Random House, in the United States, and at Penguin in Great Britain.
