Actress Brie Larson, who won an Oscar in 2016 for her role in "Room", will be the protagonist and executive producer of the "Lessons in Chemistry" tv series. The action takes place in the 1960s and focuses on Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson), whose dream of becoming a scientist is rejected by a society that considers a woman's place to be at home. When she finds out that she is pregnant and fired from the laboratory where she worked, Elizabeth is hired to host a culinary television show. She gets to teach housewives, but also men who suddenly listen to her, more things than recipes.
"Lessons in Chemistry" is based on Bonnie Garmus's novel.
