The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E electric car is a compact SUV with impressive capabilities and a respectable driving range. The base price is $46.890 and rises depending on the features and add-ons you want.

It has an elevated driving position compared to a standard car, and some models even have all-wheel drive. Still, it has a slanted top, making it less functional than a classic sport utility vehicle. However you look at it, the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is a fantastic electric vehicle.

The California Route 1 version's 312-mile maximum range is comparable to that of the Tesla TSLA, -3.86% Model Y. It's how far you can travel on a fully charged battery before giving up.

Ford F, down 2.80%, also produces a few extremely sporty variations that use one more advantage of electric vehicles: readily available power. However, every configuration has positive aspects to the Ford 2023 Mustang Mach-E.

KBB recognized the previous year's model as Best Buy in its category. We are, without a doubt, ardent admirers.

This is not an electric version of the classic Mustang to clear up any confusion. The only similarities between this and the sports vehicle are the name, the taillights, and the horsey insignia.

The base price of a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is $46.895, not including the $995 destination fee. That's the price for the Select model with RWD. Adding all-wheel drive will cost you an additional $2,700 on the Premium model.

Prices for the premium tier start at around $55,000. This package includes an $8,600 long-range battery.

All-wheel drive is now standard on the Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 variant, which starts at slightly over $63.5K. The GT top-dog trim level costs just under $70,000. For an additional $6,000, you can choose the GT Performance Edition package, which includes an adaptive suspension, and the most costly quality paint will set you back $795.

The incentive of up to $7,500 is the silver lining to these expensive clouds (currently, electric vehicles from Chevrolet and Tesla do not qualify). Incentive programs may also be available in some states. For instance, if you buy or lease a new Mustang Mach-E, you can get a $2,000 rebate from the California Clean Vehicle Rebate program. You can get $500 in New York.

Ford also offers 250 kWh of complimentary fast charging on the Electrify America network.

The Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, two other electric vehicles making waves right now, maybe had for as little as $40,000 each. Volkswagen's ID.4 goes for approximately $38,000, while Tesla's Model Y starts at almost $66,000. The cheapest 2018 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is around $28,000 and can travel 247 miles on a single charge.

A speed of 60 miles per hour from a standstill in under 3.5 seconds is incredible. One of the main selling points of electric drivetrains is their ability to generate peak torque at the flip of a switch, which is a big plus for many drivers. The GT Performance Edition is capable of such rapid acceleration thanks to its massive 634 lb-ft of torque.

And it's not like the standard GT is a sluggish vehicle. It falls just 34 lb-ft short and takes 0.3 seconds longer. The Premium trim of the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV with rear-wheel drive and the longest-range battery will be available in 2023. Still, 6.1 seconds is respectable and fits the Premium model's ritzier persona.

As a result of the battery pack's placement under the floor, the overall ride height is increased while the vehicle's center of gravity remains low. It's easy to relax in the cockpit of the Mustang Mach-E because of its solid construction and handling. But the GT Performance Edition has an adjustable suspension, so it handles more like a sports car.

There are three different modes of driving: whisper (ideal for daily commutes and lengthy stretches of highway), engage (with a hint of excitement), and unbridled (maximizing the potential of those electric motors).

The Ford Mustang Mach-E can be driven with just one pedal, just like other electric vehicles. When the vehicle's brake energy regeneration is turned up, the driver can stop it simply by letting off the gas, and they can manage its speed simply by adjusting the throttle. During the chaos of city traffic, this was quite helpful.

A sizeable 15.5-inch infotainment touchscreen is positioned vertically, bringing the cutting edge of technology to the foreground. Along with this, all brand-new Mustang Mach-E SUVs include a 10.2-inch digital driver information display.

The upholstery is of acceptable quality faux leather, and there is an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat even in the Select trim. Suede-like textile inlays decorate the GT's seating surfaces.

Though two average-sized people may feel cramped in the back due to the roof's pitch, there is actually sufficient space for all of their needs. The driver has enough visibility to the outside.

When the rear seats are collapsed, cargo capacity increases from 29.7 to 59.7 cubic feet, much like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV, a similar model. A hidden compartment lies beneath the engine.

This year, for $800, you may have the brand-new Nite Owl makeup set. The package includes external parts finished in high-gloss black and is available on the Premium trim with the extended-range battery and the GT Performance Edition. Furthermore, it can be customized with any color of your choosing.

Relatedly, the 2023 Mustang Mach-E SUV selection adds Carbonized Gray Metallic and Vapor Blue Metallic to replace existing colors. The fixed glass panoramic roof, previously only available on the GT and GT Performance Edition models, has been removed.

Identical hardware and software can be found in the Select and Premium trim levels of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E. The single electric motor in the standard-range battery, rear-wheel-drive variant produces 266 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. When a second electric motor is added to power the front wheels (electronic all-wheel drive), the vehicle's torque increases to 428 lb-ft while maintaining the same amount of horsepower.

After then, Premium sets out on its own with the extended-range battery if purchased. The torque output is the same for both RWD and AWD models, although the former produces 290 hp and the latter 346 hp.

The California Route 1 variant now comes standard with AWD, so it, too, benefits from the increased output.

Versions with the Ford GT badge offer a heftier punch. The standard Ford GT and the Ford GT Performance Edition produce 480 hp, but the GT Performance Edition offers significantly more torque at 634 lb-ft. All-wheel drive is a given.

There is a 247-mile range when the Select and Premium models are equipped with RWD and the standard-range lithium-ion battery. You can cut that in half to just 224 miles by upgrading to all-wheel drive. The Premium's optional longer-range battery (also lithium-ion) increases range from 273 to 306 miles (rear-wheel drive) or from 290 to 286 miles (all-wheel drive), respectively.

The GT and California Route 1 models come standard with a longer-lasting battery. The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 has the longest range, at 312 miles.

The standard Ford GT has a range of 270 miles, while the GT Performance Edition boosts that to 260 miles.

Battery life can be restored from 10% to 80% with a DC fast charger in around 45 minutes. Every hour it's plugged into a Ford-specific home charging station, the vehicle's range increases by 28 miles. Or, if you have a 240-volt charging system, you should allow for about 11 hours for a full recharge.

Figures and range estimates for MPGe from the EPA are for 2022; however, we anticipate that 2023 will be relatively close.
