Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is a condition, wherein, the food is not digested properly due to insufficient levels of digestive enzymes from the pancreas. It is also referred to as EPI and is commonly present in humans, who are affected with coachman-Diamond Syndrome and cystic fibrosis. Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is commonly caused by the loss of pancreatic cells that produces the digestive enzymes.
